The Run

What is the Run Across Georgia {RAG}?

Run Across Georgia is designed to be a true running adventure – a self-supported, multi-day, 250-mile running adventure across the southern section of the state of Georgia. To be considered a finisher for this particular event, runners must adhere to the following:

* unsupported runners would carry everything they need with with them from the start.
** self-supported runners will acquire aid items from stores, roadside stands and other commercially available means

Where will {RAG} take place?

Georgia State Route 520, also known as the South Georgia Parkway, will be the main route for runners to follow. This section of Georgia road runs from Eufaula, Alabama to the golden beaches of Jekyll Island.

Is this a race?

Run Across Georgia is not designed to be a race. A race would most likely assume organization, aid stations, entry fees, …and a fancy wicking shirt – none of which will be available for this adventure.

It’s just not that kind of thing.

That being said, the goal will be to get across the state as fast as possible, in as little number of days as possible.

Run Across Georgia will be a true test of runner survival.

I expect that anyone who does this run with me will be a very different person  standing on the shores of Jekyll Island, GA than they were standing on the corner of East Barbour Street & Riverside Drive in Eufaula, AL.

A lot of personal discovery will go down within 250 miles of road running.

You’re crazy – no one will want to do this…

Maybe not – but I’m doing it. I’m pretty sure there’s some other warriors out there who are interested in seeing what they can do, too.

I have always gravitated toward the self-supported events. There’s a certain satisfaction in getting from point A to point B all on your own determination and dedication. Even as a kid, I’d play Rambo in the dirt piles behind my house, imagining that I was being dropped off in the jungle and I had to make my way out.

I also want to someday run across the United States. {RAG} will be a perfect glimpse into the world of long distance, multi-day land crossing.

Ok, so as crazy as this is, I want in!

Ha, sucker… are you sure? Think really hard before you hit that email link below…
